NANCE LABORATORY

SUMMER 2017 | Mentor: Chad Curtis, Ph.D. & Elizabeth Nance, Ph.D.

Researched the effect of the brain microenvironment on the stability and colloidal behavior of polymer-functionalized nanoparticles. Co-authored the research article Colloidal stability as a determinant of nanoparticle behavior in the brain in Colloids & Surfaces B: Biointerfaces.

LAZARUS LAB

SUMMER 2018 | Mentor: Susmita Khamrui, Ph.D. & Michael Lazarus, Ph.D.

Conducted biochemical experimentation supporting structural discovery of the unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1 (ULK1) protein kinase via protein isolation & purification techniques. Compiled 51 scientific research articles into a 21-page literature review relating autophagy & cancer therapies.
