Siloam Health is a nonprofit medical center who works to serve Nashville’s uninsured, underserved, and culturally marginalized. In 2020, Siloam Health was in need of a comprehensive program that improves mental health access for refugees and immigrants upon receiving a $500,000 grant from Tenneesee.
I led a team of 6 students from undergraduate schools across Vanderbilt to generate an effective, cost-effective and sustainable system that caters to the mental health needs of the asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants (ASRIs) in Nashville. The developed system seeks to uphold the mission of Siloam Health – to deliver healthcare transformed by love – by integrating new programs or adding to existing ones ways to develop trust between patients and the clinic.
